A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A GRANT AGREEMENT
WITH THE FLOOD CONTROL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (FCAAP) FOR GRANT
FUNDS TO PREPARE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AREA STANDARDS FOR DRAINAGE
BASINS 4C, 6, 7, AND TO COMPLETE PLANS FOR DRAINAGE BASINS 5, 8 AND 9.
WHEREAS, The City of Port Townsend has limited funds for the many projects needed to
control and manage stormwater; and
The State Department of Ecology may release funds through the Flood Control
Assistance Account Program (FCAAP) to support flood damage reduction and
flood hazard management during 1998-99; and
WHEREAS, The City has begun work on these basins under a previous FCAAP grant; and
WHEREAS, Work was not completed due to unexpected basin conditions; and
WHEREAS, This grant would enable the City to prepare an Implementation Plan Area Standards
and complete the unfinished drainage plans,
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the
Mayor to sign a grant agreement with the Department of Ecology (FCAAP) for funds to assist
with an Implementation Plan Area Standards for City Drainage Basins.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 5th day
of January, 1998.
