HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-006RESOLUTION 98- ~) dj ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND SUBMIT A PROPOSAL TO THE PUGET SOUND WATER QUALITY TEAM (PSWQAT) PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT AND EDUCATION (PIE) FUND TO DIRECT A WETLAND PLANTING AND EDUCATION PROGRAM. WHEREAS, SEPA mitigation requirements for the San Juan Avenue Improvements Project require that the site be revegetated and a monitoring program implemented; and WHEREAS, the City would like to train and supervise volunteers to perform these duties; and WHEREAS, the City would like to construct interpretive signs and provide public education needed for the long term health of the wetland; and WHEREAS, the City has no funds available for this project; and WHEREAS, PIE Funds are available for such projects. N O W T H E R E F O R E BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the Mayor to submit a proposal to the PSWQAT to apply for PIE funds.
