RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH BERGITA HOUSE FOR 1998 CONTRACT SERVICES
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Bergita House has established itself as an organization dedicated to
providing therapeutic services for at-risk children who often do not qualify to receive
assistance from other agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Bergita House has been providing counseling and other therapeutic
services to children, aged 3-18, in the community consistently since 1987; and
WHEREAS, the Bergita House has requested that the City officially help support its
efforts by payment of a grant of $2,500 to be used for general operating expenses and to
enable the Bergita House to serve more children on its waiting list; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to encourage continuation of the types of critical services
provided by the Bergita House; and
WItE, REAS, the City desires to financially support' the programs provided by the
Bergita House as they are a valuable service to the citizens of Port Townsend; and
WHEREAS, the Council approved the requested grant through the 1998 Budget,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend that the Mayor is authorized to sign the Professional Services Agreement between
the City and Bergita House, a nonprofit Washington State corporation, in the same form as
attached hereto.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor
on this 17th day of February, 1998.
