A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH
NORTHWESTERN TERRITORIES, INC., REGARDING THE SURVEY OF STATE AQUATIC
LANDS ADJACENT TO THE INNER HARBOR LINE AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO ISSUE WARRANTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AGREEMENT
Whereas,
The City is negotiating with the state Department of Natural
Resources (DNR) regarding the assignment to the City of a
lease between DNR and Port Townsend Paper Corporation of
state aquatic lands beyond the inner harbor line occupied by
a railroad transfer span that is now owned by the City; and
Whereas,
It is necessary to survey such state aquatic lands in
accordance with DNR requirements in connection with a
revision of the legal description for the lands subject to
the lease; and
Whereas,
Northwestern Territories, Inc., has proposed to provide the
needed services at a cost not to exceed $3,800, which is the
lowest proposal received for this project,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that it
authorizes the Mayor to sign an agreement with Northwestern Territories,
Inc., regarding the survey and preparation of a legal description for
state aquatic lands beyond the inner harbor line occupied by a railroad
transfer span owned by the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director is authorized to issue
warrants in accordance in accordance with said agreement.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by
the Mayor this 6th day of April, 1998.
