RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH DOUGLAS MASON FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS
BEGINNING APRIL 1, 1998
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, resolves as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be beneficial to the City to utilize the
Contractor as an independent entity to provide right-of-way activities and negotiations,
purchase of land and easements for utilities and improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the City would further utilize the Contractor to prepare Local
Improvement District (LID) and payback agreements for the City; and
WHEREAS, such services require specialized expertise and training; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such
services itself; and
WHEREAS, based on Contractor's experience as a title officer for a title company,
and the fact that Contractor has been a real estate attorney for 15 years and has pursued
specialized training in the area of real estate appraisal, the City Council finds that the
Contractor is qualified to perform the services required; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has been selected from the City's Professional Services
Roster,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend that the Mayor is authorized to execute the Agreement with Douglas Mason in
substantially the form as attached to this resolution.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor
on this 6th day of April, 1998.
