CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND CONDUCTING PUBLIC HEARING
FOR CHERRY STREET PROPERTY SURPLUS
Council to determine property sale conditions and use of proceeds
PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend City Council will conduct a public hearing on Monday,
November 6, 2023 at or about 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 540 Water Street, Port
Townsend, WA, to consider whether the Cherry Street property is surplus to the City's needs.
In order to market the property, City staff have recommended that City Council redo the
surplus hearing that was originally held in 2017. Redoing the hearing allows Council to clarify
two key questions:
• What, if any, conditions will be part of the property sale?
• What is the most appropriate use for the sale proceeds?
