INTERGOVERNMENTAL COLLABORATIVE GROUP HOSTS SPEAKERS FORUM ON JUNE 26
Gregg Colburn, author of "Homelessness is a Housing Problem” to speak at Port Pavilion at 6pm
PORT TOWNSEND — The Intergovernmental Collaborative Group (ICG) is hosting a Speakers Forum
event on June 26 at 6pm at the Port Pavilion facility, 355 Hudson Street, Port Townsend. Gregg
Colburn, author of "Homelessness is a Housing Problem," will be speaking about the causes of
homelessness, testing conventional beliefs about homelessness, looking at significantly different
homelessness rates in cities across the nation, and drawing strong links to high housing costs. The
event is free and open to the public.
Mayor David Faber says, "I asked author Greg Colburn to join us at a special meeting of the ICG
because homelessness and housing availability are critical and linked issues facing our nation and
our community. We stand a better chance of making progress if we name the problems,
understand them, and then look to the policy tools we need to make positive change. I hope you'll
join me in learning from Mr. Colburn."
The Intergovernmental Collaborative Group (ICG) is a body composed of the elected officials of
the City of Port Townsend, Jefferson County, the Port of Port Townsend, and Jefferson County
Public Utility District #1 (PUD).
