AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME FORM AS THE ATTACHED WITH THE PORT
TOWNSEND SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE CITY USE OF THE POOL FOR
THE RECREATION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS,
the District has a swimming pool which is a part of the present Mountain View
Elementary School facility located at Walker and Blaine Streets in Port
Townsend, Washington; and
WHEREAS, the City has a parks and recreation program and desires to include swimming
activities as part of that program; and
WHEREAS,
statutory authority exists for entering into rental agreements such as this and the
respective parties have each taken appropriate action authorizing this agreement;
and
WHEREAS,
the parties agree that continual upgrading of the facility is important to the
aquatic program. Therefore, the City, may with prior approval of the School
Board, donate capital improvements,
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend authorizes the Mayor to
sign an agreement in substantially the same form as the attached to continue a pool program for
the community.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor on this
8th day of September, 1998.
