A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR $14,601.87 TO
THE WALKER STREET SIDEWALK CONTRACT WITH SETON CONSTRUCTION,
INC.
WHEREAS, Change Orders are a necessary and common occurrence on public works projects
such as the Walker Street Sidewalk Project; and
WHEREAS, A serious deficiency in fire flow and fire hydrants existed in the vicinity of
Mountain View School and the adjacent apartment building; and
WHEREAS, Installation of fire hydrants and a water mainline would con'ect this deficiency;
and
WHEREAS,
Change Orders are actual changes to the original contract, requiring fair
negotiation and agreement by the City and the Contractor, Seton Construction,

NOW THEREFORE
Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the Mayor to sign
a Change Order to the contract with Seton Construction, Inc. for the Walker Street Sidewalk
Project for the installation of fire hydrants and a water mainline in the amount of $14,601.87.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 8th
day of September, 1998.
