A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
DECLARING US FILTER THE SOLE SOURCE FOR FILTER UNDRAINS TO BE
USED IN THE TRI-AREA WELL UPGRADES THEREBY AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF THIS EQUIPMENT WITHOUT CALLING FOR BIDS.

Triton underdrains were used in Phase I and 11 of the Tri-Area Well Upgrade and
Improvement projects; and
It is a standard business practice to make all the equipment as uniform as possible
for ease of operation, repair and replacement; and
US Filter is the sole manufacturer and distributer of Triton filters; and
RCW 35.23.352(9) authorizes sole source purchasing without calling for bids;
and
The statute requires a resolution by Council declaring an exemption from bidding
under the sole source provision,

Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend declares US Filter the sole
source for the underdrains for Phase 111 of the Tri Area Well improvements and authorizes the
purchase of the underdrains without calling for bids.
