RESOLUTION NO. 22-025
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO
DESIGN AND ADMINISTER KEARNEY STREET IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation is planning
improvements to the Kearney and Sims Way intersection; and
WHEREAS, the City can contribute to the project and add additional improvements to the
intersection including a bike path, ADA compliant ramps, stormwater improvements and additional
sidewalks; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend received a $433,548 federal Surface
Transportation Block Grant for the Kearney Street improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City has a 13.5% match for the grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has authorized $88,000 from the Real Estate Excise Tax to
support the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with the
Washington State Department of Transportation to design and administer Kearney Street
improvements.
