HomeMy WebLinkAbout03182022CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING OF MARCH 18, 2022 CALL TO ORDER The Port Townsend City Council scheduled a special session on the 18th day of March 2022 beginning at Chetzemoka Park at 1000 Jackson at 1 p.m., Public Works Director Steve King opened the meeting. ROLL CALL Councilmembers Amy Howard and Owen Rowe. Staff members present: Public Works Director Steve King, City Manager John Mauro, Facility and Parks Manager Michael Todd, and Lead Parks Operator Bre Ganne No public in attendance. DISCUSSION ITEMS Chetzemoka (10 Mins) (1000 Jackson) - viewed trees, rose arbor, kitchen shelter, kiosk and ADA improvements. Sather Park (10 Mins) (Corner Foster and Adams Streets): Viewed and discussed forest health and volunteers. Haller Fountain Steps (Water/Taylor) — Looked at vegetation challenges, ex. Mem. Bench, and discussed right of way versus parks, Bobbie McGarraugh Park (10 Mins) (Cherry Street between S and P Streets): Toured playground equipment and amenities. Discussed youth presence and playground upgrades. Kah Tai Lagoon Nature Park (10 Mins) (Location Parking Lot Behind Henery Hardware) — toured restroom and discussed challenges with the park. Self Guided Tour: Information was provided for Chetzemoka, Sather Park Field, Bishop Park, 35th Street Park, rotary, Dahlia and Gateway Parks, Street Parks (Adams, Tyler Plaza and Gise Street at 59th), 16th at Blue Heron, 49th and Cook, and the Port Townsend Food Co-op Trail.
