A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
DECLARING CERTAIN PUBLIC WORKS VEHICLES AND/OR EQUIPMENT TO BE
SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL THE SAME AT
FAIR MARKET VALUE
The City Council of the city of Port Townsend does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, The city of Port Townsend Public Works Department owns certain vehicles and
equipment that have become inoperative due to age; and
WHEREAS, the disposal of the vehicles/equipment as surplus property has been determined to be in
the best interest and for the common benefit of the city; and
WHEREAS,
Section 3.44.010 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code requires that a public hearing be
held prior to disposing of all real and personal property acquired by the city for utility
purposes; and
WHEREAS,
the Public Works Director recommends that the vehicles/equipment listed below be
declared by the City Council as surplus property in accordance with Port Townsend
Municipal Code Chapter 3.44,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the city of Port Townsend, in
accordance with Chapter 3.34 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code "Disposition of Surplus Property,"
and after a duly noticed public hearing, that the vehicles/equipment listed below with approximate value
are surplus to the needs of the City and the City Clerk is authorized to publicly advertise the sale of the
property and accept sealed bids for each item. Items will be sold to the highest bidder. Funds received
shall be allocated pursuant to the City's standard accounting procedures in accordance with PTMC
3.44.050 (c). The City Manager is authorized to sign any necessary conveyance documents.
