RESOLUTION NO. 22-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH JEFFERSON COUNTY FOR LAW
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend Police Department has limited staffing and needs
assistance to ensure that the City has adequate law enforcement coverage at all times; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office can provide Sheriff Deputies to assist
with shift coverage; and
WHEREAS, the City will pay the County an hourly rate when Sheriff Deputies cover City
shifts;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, the City Manager is authorized to execute an interlocal agreement with
Jefferson County for the law enforcement services.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 21St day of March 2022,
