RESOLUTION NO. 22-010
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL
NECESSARY AGREEMENTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN EXCAVATOR AND
STREET SWEEPER IN A COLLECTIVE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $160,000
WHEREAS, the 2022 budget include American Rescue Plan Act funds and utility funds to
purchase an excavator and a street sweeper; and
WHEREAS, the excavator will support the streets, wastewater and stormwater collection,
and water distribution divisions of public works; and
WHEREAS, the excavator purchase will improve the longevity of existing City equipment
by reducing the demand; and
WHEREAS, the street sweeper is a low-cost alternative to operating the City's vacuum
sweeper; and
WHEREAS, the street sweeper will help preserve City streets by ensuring that stormwater
drains away from the pavement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager is authorized to execute all necessary agreements
for the purchase of an excavator and street sweeper in a collective amount not to exceed $160,000.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 22"d day of February 2022.
