RESOLUTION NO. 22-008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR ELECTRIC
VEHICLE CHARGING STATION GRANTS AND TO COMMIT THE USE OF CITY
REAL PROPERTY OR RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR SUCH USES
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County, Port Townsend, and the State and Federal governments
are committed to reducing carbon emissions; and
WHEREAS, electric vehicles significantly reduce the use of fossil fuels and carbon
emissions; and
WHEREAS, Washington State will likely offer electric vehicle infrastructure grants in the
near future; and
WHEREAS, the City must identify appropriate infrastructure sites in order to be
competitive for grants;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager is authorized to apply for electric vehicle charging
station grants and to commit the use of City real property or right-of-way for such uses at the
Skatepark Parking Lot and the Visitor's Center.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular 11je tiilg
thereof, held this 7t" day of February 2022. "
