A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT
WITH M & E TRUCKING FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE 43RD STREET
SEWER LINE.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of improvements to the wastewater
collection system; and
WHEREAS, Council has budgeted for collection system improvement projects through the
Capital Improvement Projects portion of the 1999 budget; and
WHEREAS, replacement of the sewer line along 43rd Street was identified as a high priority
project in the Wastewater Collection System; and
WHEREAS, the bid was solicited in conformance with public works bid laws and the City's
procurement process pursuant to Resolution 95-93; and
WHEREAS, M & E Trucking, Inc. has been chosen as the contractor for this project; and
WHEREAS, this is the third touch for this project before City Council in compliance with
Council Rules and Procedures.
NOW THEREFORE
Be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the City Manager to
sign a contract with M & E Trucking, Inc. In substantially the form attached hereto as Contractor
in the amount of $25,240.17 plus applicable sales tax for Replacement of the 43rd Street Sewer
Line
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 3rd
day of May, 1999.
