MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP OF JANUARY 10, 2022
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
The Port Townsend City Council met in workshop session on the 10th day of January
2022 in Council Chambers at 540 Water Street. Mayor David Faber called the meeting to
order at 6:31 p.m.
Councilmembers present at roll call were Aislinn Diamanti, David Faber, Amy Howard,
Monica MickHager, Owen Rowe, Ben Thomas, and Libby Wennstrom.
Staff members present were City Manager John Mauro, City Attorney Heidi Greenwood,
Public Works Director Steve King, Finance and Administrative Services Director Nora
Mitchell, Police Chief Tom Olson, Planning Manager Judy Surber, Building Official David
Nakagawara, City Engineer Laura Parsons, and City Clerk Joanna Sanders.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Orientation to Legislative Process
City Attorney Heidi Greenwood gave a presentation.
There was no public comment.
During Council discussion, staff responded to questions about the Suggestion Board
and contact points at the City for referring residents to various services.
2022 Workplan
City Manager John Mauro gave a presentation on the status of the 2022 work plan.
There was no public comment.
Discussion of the work plan items included questions about public works projects.
Suggestion Board
Ms. Greenwood presented an electronic version of the Suggestion Board. She noted
nothing changed since it was last reviewed which is why this item was not provided in
the packet.

There was no public comment.
During discussion, there was concern about not having the suggestion board or
agenda materials to review in advance of or at the meeting. There was Council interest
in receiving the materials as part of the packet and reviewing the matter at the next
workshop. It was suggested there be consideration for reviewing the document more
often than quarterly.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
