A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN
AGREEMENT WITH PORT TOWNSEND SCHOOL DISTRICT. NO. 50
CONTAINING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGARDING THE RENTAL BY
THE CITY OF THE SWIMMING POOL AT MOUNTAIN VIEW ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the District has a swimming pool which is a part of the present Mountain View
Elementary School facility located at Walker and Blaine Streets in Port Townsend, Washington; and
WHEREAS, the City has a parks and recreation program and desires to include swimming
activities as part of that program; and
WHEREAS, statutory authority exists for entering into rental agreements such as this and
the respective parties have each taken appropriate action authorizing this agreement; and
WHEREAS, the parties agree that continual upgrading of the facility is important to the
aquatic program. Therefore, the City, may with prior approval of the School Board, donate capital
improvements,
NOW THEREFORE, Be It Resolved, that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend amhorizes
the City Manager to sign an Inter-Agency Cooperation Agreement, in substantially the same form as
attached, with the Port Townsend School District #50 for the purpose of establishing terms and
conditions for the rental of the swimming pool facilities at Mountain View Elementary School.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 16th day of
August, 1999.
