RESOLUTION NO. 21-064
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH R112 ENGINEERING FOR AN OLYMPIC GRAVITY WATER
SYSTEM PIPELINE WATER METERING DESIGN IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$50,000
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend is researching a cost-of-water used to fund the
operating and capital costs of the City's water system; and
WHEREAS, accurate metering of the water delivered to the Port Townsend Paper
Company is part of that study; and
WHEREAS, accurate metering will ensure an equitable water system cost sharing in the
collection and reservation of the funds needed to cover the costs of operating the water system and
future capital investment; and
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Paper Company has a scheduled maintenance shutdown in
March 2022 that provides an opportunity to install the meters without a service interruption; and
WHEREAS, in order to complete the project during that timeframe, the City must contract
for the design and purchase of equipment in the near future;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, the City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with R112
Engineering for an Olympic Gravity Water System pipeline water metering design in an amount
not to exceed $50,000.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 18th day of October 2021.
