Hello Gloria,
You had asked for more information on the proposed vegetation management at the city's golf course pond'
Attached, please find:
Vicinity map - Port Townsend Bay is in the bottom of the photo and Kah Iai Lagoon is als^o shorrun. A red

-shows the location of the golf course pond near the intersection of F and San Juan Streets.
Aerial photo outlining the area proposed to be cut to maintain line of sight from the two T-off locations (on
the west side of pond) to the green (on the east side).
The vegetation, primarily cattails, would be cut using an arriir off a riding lawn mower. Although
the total area shown in the aerial photo is28,246 sf - in reality, the mower arm will not reach
beyond 2}-feetin and thus only the outer edge of the vegetation would be cut (to a height of
about 3-4 feet).
Our Critical Areas Ordinance reads as follows: "At this time, the only priority habitats and
species known to be identified and mapped by the Department of Wildlife in Port Townsend are
the following:
a. Bald eagles;
b. Great blue herons;
c. Brant and harlequin feeding areas;
d. Waterfowl concentrations at Kah Tai Lagoon;
e. Waterfowl wintering areaat golf course pond."
