A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND DESIGNATING THE PORT TOWNSEND LEADER AS THE
OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER FOR THE CITY
WHEREAS,
the City of Port Townsend is required, pursuant to RCW 35A.21.230, to designate
an official newspaper of general circulation, for purposes including but not limited
to the publication of the City's ordinances and various legal notices; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has advertised and received bids for the "official newspaper" in a
fair and timely fashion, in accordance with City and State bidding laws; and
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Leader meets the criteria set forth in RCW 65.16.020 setting
forth qualifications of legal newspapers; and
WHEREAS,
the City Council has found the Port Townsend Leader, with offices at 226 Adams
Street, Port Townsend, WashingtOn, to be the lowest responsive responsible bidder;
and
WHEREAS, This recognition will be for a period of one year beginning January 1, 2000,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does
hereby designate the Port Townsend Leader as the official newspaper for the City pursuant to and
for the purposes set forth in RCW 35A.21.230 beginning January 1, 2000.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City .of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor on this
