HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-066RESOLUTION #99 - 0~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND DECLARING M & E TRUCKING OF PORT HADLOCK, WASHINGTON TO BE THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE TAFT STREET UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for sewer line replacements and upgrades in the 1999 Budget and CIP; and WHEREAS, the Taft Street Utility Improvements Projects was selected as a priority project for 1999; and WHEREAS, the City has advertised from its Small Works Roster and received bids for this construction work in a fair and timely fashion, in accordance with City and State bidding laws; and WHEREAS, the City has found M & E Trucking to be the lowest responsive responsible bidder, N O W T H E R E F O R E Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: Section 1: The bid submitted by M & E Trucking for construction of the Taft Street Utility Improvements Project in the amount of $45,557.65 plus sales tax of 7.9% is hereby accepted and approved. M & E Trucking is declared the lowest responsive, responsible bidder on the project. Section 2: The contract as identified by the contract documents entitled "Taft Street Utility Improvements Project" is hereby awarded to M & E Trucking, subject to M & E Trucking's signature of the contract and posting of an acceptable performance bond, insurance certificates and all other documentation required by the contract and the law. Section 3: The contract shall be signed by the City Manager and the City's award of the contract will be final when conditions set forth in Section 2 above have been met.
