A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH AGI TECHNOLOGIES TO PROVIDE A GEOLOGIC HAZARDS
ASSESSMENT OF THE OLYMPIC GRAVITY WATER SYSTEM, (OGWS) PIPELINE.
WHEREAS, the OGWS pipeline's stability is critical to water delivery for both the City and the
Port Townsend Paper Company; and
WHEREAS, the OGWS has experienced damaged due to erosion on the site; and
WHEREAS, during the recent repairs other sites along the pipeline have been identified as
possible risks; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City to utilize the Consultant as an independent entity
to provide a geological hazards assessment of the 0GWS pipeline site; and
the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such services itself
and the City and the Consultant are desirous of entering into an Agreement to
formalize their relationship
WHEREAS, the City has investigated the qualifications of the Consultant and finds that the
Consultant is qualified to perform the services required,
N 'OW T H E R E F O R E
Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the City Manager to
sign a Professional Services Agreement, in substantially the same form as attached, with AGI
Technologies to provide a geological hazards assessment for the Olympic Gravity Water System
Pipeline for an amount not to exceed $14,000.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 1st.
day of November, 1999.
