HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-075STATE OF WASHINGTON CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AND JEFFERSON COUNTY LAW AND JUSTICE FACILITIES IN THE MATTER OF SHARING AND JOINTLY DEVELOPING FACILITIES TO HOUSE LAW AND/USTICE SERVICES AND OWNER SFA~XaCES WHERE FEASIBLE · PORT TOWNStRqD RESOLUTION NO. ~q-d} c] 5 q ?- Whereas, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners have ~ to facilitate and examine joint ventures of all common service programs, capital facilities and related telecommunications and technology services whenever feas~le, and Whereas, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners have identified capital facility needs to support law and justice services, including courts, legal services, and sherif~ police, and fire safety, and Whereas, sharing and jointly developing facilities to meet future needs can provide opportunities to reduce costs 'and provide more effective services, and ~henms, evaluation of potential sit~ to develop a shared facility campus has focused on property adj~omt Howard Street between SR20 and Discovery Road in Port Townsend. Now therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and the Jefferson Board of Commissioners agree to share and jointly develop facilities to house law and justice s~n'~ices, including courts, legal services, shert~ police, and fire safety and other services where fimm~le, and Be it further resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and the Jefferson County ~ of Commissioners will direct staff from each agency to develop a work plan to evaluate a ~lmred facility campus located at Howard Street between SR20 and Discovery ROad.
