RESOLUTION NO. 21-031
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, TASKING THE CITY COUNCIL CULTURE AND SOCIETY
COMMITTEE TO REVIEW AND ASSESS ALL RELATED POLICIES AND CODES
CURRENTLY IN EFFECT AND REPORT BACK TO THE COUNCIL WITH A FULL
PRIORITIZED WORK PLAN AND BEGIN IMPLEMENTATION AS REQUIRED
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend City Council established a City Council Culture
and Society Committee on May 3, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Culture and Society Committee is to advise and make
policy recommendations with respect to the City's culture and society; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must consider several long-term societal issues, including
racial justice, diversity, and inclusion; COVID-19 recovery; economic development; volunteer
appreciation; public art plan; and sustainability.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
The City Council Culture and Society Committee will consist of three City Council
members. The Committee will review and assess all related policies and codes currently in
effect and report back to the Council with a full prioritized work plan and begin implementation
as required.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 7t" day of June 2021.
