A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR $2,320.63 TO THE
PORT TOWNSEND POLICE FACILITY RENOVATION PROJECT CONTRACT
WITH KURTZBEIN CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, Change Orders are a necessary and common occurrence on construction projects
such as the Port Townsend Police Facility Renovation; and
WHEREAS,
Change Orders are actual changes to the original contract, requiring fair
negotiation and agreement by the City and the Contractor, Kurtzbein
Construction; and
WHEREAS,
It has been found necessary and desirable to provide the carpentry work necessary
for an additional heat pump and ventilating system for the Evidence Room, install
a bath cabinet, sink and faucet and install counter tops in the Records Room; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the budget to accommodate these changes;
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be It Resolved that the City COuncil of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the City Manager
to sign Change Order #1 for $2,32063 to the Port Townsend Police Facility Renovation' Project
contract with Kurtzbein Construction to provide the carpentry work necessary for an additional
heat pump and ventilating system for the Evidence Room, install a bath cabinet, sink and faucet
and install counter tops in the Records Room
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 1st
day of November, 1999.
