RESOLUTION NO. 21-018
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A TWENTY-
YEAR NO-COST LEASE WITH RADIO PORT TOWNSEND D/B/A KPTZ FOR
MORGAN HILL COMMUNICATION FACILITIES
WHEREAS, Radio Port Townsend, a non-profit corporation, operates the KPTZ radio
station in Port Townsend as a public benefit; and
WHEREAS, the radio station will move its studios from the Mountain View campus to
Fort Worden; and
WHEREAS, the move to Fort Worden will require an additional radio tower on Morgan
Hill in order to broadcast to the Port Townsend area; and
WHEREAS, Radio Port Townsend must complete a permitting process, including a
hearing before the hearing examiner, prior to constructing the communication facilities; and
WHEREAS, the communication facilities will include a sixty-foot antenna tower;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, the City Manager is authorized to execute a twenty-year no-cost lease for
with Radio Port Townsend d/b/a KPTZ for Morgan Hill communication facilities.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 15th day of March 2021.
