RESOLUTION NO. 21-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE
AMENDMENT WITH THE PORT TOWNSEND PAPER CORPORATION THAT
EXTENDS THE TERM UNTIL DECEMBER 31,2021
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Paper Corporation lease was to expire on March 15, 2020;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority in Port Townsend Municipal Code 3.44.010(B), the
City Manager extended the lease term until March 15, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed negotiations for a new water agreement
with the Port Townsend Paper Corporation; and
WHEREAS, staff has made significant progress towards a final agreement with the Port
Townsend Paper Corporation, but requires additional time to complete the negotiations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Manager is authorized to sign a lease
amendment with the Port Townsend Paper Corporation that extends the lease term until December
31, 2021.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 1"day of March 2021.
