RESOLUTION NO. 21-005
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AN AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT BOARD 2020 URBAN ARTERIAL PROGRAM FOR THE DISCOVERY
ROAD PROJECT AND TO SIGN ALL CONTRACTS FOR THE PLANNING,
PERMITTING, AND DESIGN OF THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, Washington State Transportation Improvement Board Urban Arterial
Program awarded the City of Port Townsend a grant for improvements to Discovery Road between
Rainier Street and McClellan Street; and
WHEREAS, the grant in is in the amount of$2,629,618; and
WHEREAS, the grant will allow the City to reconstruct the entire paved roadway of
Discovery Road as well as install sidewalks and bicycle facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with the
Washington State Transportation Improvement Board 2020 Urban Arterial Program for the
Discovery Road Project from Rainier Street to McClellan Street and to sign all contracts for the
planning, permitting, and design of the project
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 4th day of January 2021.
