RESOLUTION NO. 21-002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AMENDMENT EXTENDING THE JEFFERSON COUNTY INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
FOR JAIL SERVICES FOR ONE YEAR
WHEREAS, in fall 2017, the City of Port Townsend and Jefferson County executed an
interlocal agreement for jail services; and
WHEREAS, that agreement expired on December 31, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the parties have agreed to extend the agreement for one year on the same
terms while they negotiate a comprehensive criminal justice contract;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager is authorized to execute an amendment extending
the Jefferson County Interlocal Agreement for Jail Services for one year.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 4th day of January 2021.
