A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT BOARD (TIB) GRANT AGREEMENT FOR F STREET
IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, it has been identified by Staff, Council and Citizen Advisory Groups that additional
improvements to F Street are necessary for vehicular and pedestrian safety; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has limited financial resources with which to upgrade
streets within the City for motor vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic use; and
WHEREAS, various State and Federal agencies have established programs for distributing
financial aid including TIB Urban Funding Programs; and
WHEREAS, the TIB has granted the City an Arterial Improvement Program grant in the amount of
$1,095,000; and
WHEREAS, the TIB requires an authorized signature to accept the grant monies with conditions as
described in the grant agreement,
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the City
Manager to sign a grant agreement with the TIB to accept funds for improvements to F Street..
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 20th day of
March, 2000.
