A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR LOCAL TELEVISION
COVERAGE OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council is committed to providing the greatest possible public access to
council meetings; and
the local Public, Educational and Governmental Access Studio (PTTV) is capable
of providing live or taped coverage of meetings which are held in venues that
allow filming that meets the station's minimum quality standards; and
WHEREAS,
since the inception of PTTV coverage, the council has established a regular
schedule of study session and workshop meetings in addition to regular council
business meetings;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend,
as follows:
SECTION 1. PTTV will televise live or tape for future airing, all regular business meetings,
special study sessions, public forums and town hall meetings to the greatest extent possible,
providing the meeting is held in a venue in which lighting and sound conditions meet minimum
quality requirements and providing PTTV can provide a camera operator.
SECTION 2. Funding will be made available by the city council to enable payment of $35.00
per meeting to the camera operator who covers any regular or special city council meeting.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and si~ Mayor on this
6th day of April, 2000.
