RESOLUTION NO. 20-064
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON ADOPTING THE PORT TOWNSEND LIBRARY STRATEGIC PLAN
2021-2025
WHEREAS, in 2017, the Port Townsend City Council tasked staff with researching and
developing sustainable funding sources for the Port Public Townsend Library; and
WHEREAS, BERK Consulting completed the Library's Level of Service and
Sustainability Analysis in 2019; and
WHEREAS, BERK Consulting, City Staff, and the Library Advisory Board built on the
prior work to complete a Library Strategic Plan; and
WHEREAS, in formulating the Strategic Plan, the Library formed a steering committee of
Library stakeholders and with BERK Consulting's expert guidance completed public engagement
through community meetings and other outreach efforts; and
WHEREAS, on November 19, 2020, the Library Advisory Board reviewed and
unanimously recommended the Library Strategic Plan that outlines the Library's vision, mission,
core services, and assets and resources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the Port Townsend Library Strategic Plan 2021-2025 is adopted.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 7th day of December 2020.
