A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GRAY & OSBORNE, INC. FOR DESIGN,
PERMITTING AND ENGINEERING FOR THE GAINES STREET LIFT STATION,
THE TRUNK SEWER AND THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY
OUTFALL.
WHEREAS, the City and Contractor desire to enter into an Agreement to formalize their
relationship; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City to utilize the Contractor as an independent
entity to design, engineer and do all necessary permitting for the Gaines Street Lift Station,
the Trunk Sewer and the Wastewater Treatment Facility Outfall; and
WHEREAS, such services require specialized expertise and training; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such services
itself; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has experience in Mechanical Engineering, and has pursued
specialized training in the area of wastewater; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has been selected from the City's Professional Services
Roster; and
WHEREAS, the City has investigated the qualifications of the Contractor and finds that
Gray & Osborne, Inc. is well qualified to perform the services required; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor is willing and able to provide and perform said services,
NOW THEREFORE
Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the City Manager
to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Gray & Osborne, Inc. to provide wastewater
planning and design services within the scope of the CIP and Budget for FY 2000.
