A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO REQUEST
AND FACILITATE RENEWAL OF CERTAIN SPECIAL USE PERMITS
WHEREAS, the City's Special Use Permit for the operation and maintenance of the
Big Quilcene River municipal diversion and pipeline occupying US Forest Service
land expires December 31, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, the Special Use Permit for the Little Quilcene municipal diversion and
pipeline has expired; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Agencies permitting activities are required to determine
whether the permitted activity may result in the destruction or adverse modification of
critical habitat and if necessary, require that the City modify the operation of its
diversions to protect habitat or threatened or endangered species,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
Section 1. That the City Council hereby directs the City Manager to prepare and
submit a supplemental program budget and work plan approved by the City Council
for obtaining the necessary permit renewals,; and,
Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to formally request the special use
permit renewal and prepare the required documentation consistent with the approved
work plan and supplemental budget.
