HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-035 RESOLUTION #00-035 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH PENINSULA COLLEGE FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO THE CITY OF COSTS FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend and Peninsula College each rent portions of the Waterman & Katz Building located at 181 Quincy Street in Port Townsend; and WHEREAS, the college and the city share certain common areas, including restrooms and stairways, in the Waterman & Katz Building; and WHEREAS, routine custodial services are needed by both the college and the city; and WHEREAS, it is more efficient to have one entity serve as project manager for the building's custodial needs; and WHEREAS, for the past year, the city has employed Commtmity Building maintenance, as an independent contractor, to provide custodial services to City Facilities, including the Waterman & Katz building; NOW THEREFORE Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Peninsula College providing for reimbursement from the college to the city for a proportionate share of costs for custodial services.
