RESOLUTION NO. 20-041
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH JACOBS ENGINEERING GROUP INC. FOR THE DESIGN OF THE GAINES
STREET LIFT STATION UPGRADE AND CORROSION MITIGATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Gaines Street lift station is critical infrastructure for the City of Port
Townsend wastewater utility; and,
WHEREAS, the pump station was rebuilt approximately twenty years ago, is nearing the
end of its useful life, and is significantly corroded; and,
WHEREAS, Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. completed a study of the lift station in 2019
and presented several options for repairs; and,
WHEREAS, the preferred option is to install a new liner that will extend the useful life of
the lift station;
WHEREAS, Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is an entity familiar with the lift station and is
member of the MRSC consultant roster;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with Jacobs
Engineering Inc for the design of the Gaines Street Lift Station upgrade and corrosion mitigation
project.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 3rd day of August 2020.
