HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-053Resolution No. 00- t95,~ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND APPROVING A SHORELINE SUBSTANTIAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT, APPLICATION LUP 00-019 The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington resolves as follows: WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center has petitioned the City for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit in accordance with the 1989 Port Townsend Shoreline Master Program to allow renovation of two.existing buildings at Fort Worden State Park that currently house their operations; and WHEREAS, the application was originally submitted on or about April 13, 2000 by Mr. Peter Badame, representing the PT Marine Science Center and the application is vested under the current rules then in effect; and WHEREAS, the applicant submitted revisions to the proposal on or about July 20, 2000, the nature of which were found to clearly exempt the project from review under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA); and WHEREAS, the proposed Shoreline Substantial Development Permit was duly noticed pursuant to Chapter 20.01 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Planning Commission conducted an open record public hearing for the purpose of taking testimony, hearing evidence, considering the facts germane to the proposal, and evaluating the proposal for consistency with adopted plans and regulations; and WHEREAS, the City Council has held a closed record public heating for the purpose of considering the Planning Commission's recommendation and evidence in the record including any written comments and/or public testimony received, NOW, TI-1EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council hereby accepts and adopts the findings of fact, conclusions and project conditions as recommended by the Planning Commission dated August 31, 2000.
