RESOLUTION NO. 20-031
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A ONE-YEAR
EXTENSION OF THE COMMISSIONED OFFICER COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
AGREEMENT WITH TEAMSTERS LOCAL 589
WHEREAS, the current public health crisis and staffing levels make negotiating a new
collective bargaining agreement with the commissioned officers represented by
Teamsters Local 589 challenging; and,
WHEREAS, the bargaining unit has agreed to a one-year extension of the current
agreement with a 2% across the board wage increase and other minor language changes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager may executive a one-year extension with
Teamsters Local 589 that includes a 2% across the board wage increase and other minor
language changes. The City Council also finds that this action is necessary and routine.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this P,day of June 2020.
