RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
PURCHASE AND SALE AGREEMENT FOR THE GEORGE AND LEONA
BROWN PROPERTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,000
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington resolves as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council determines it in the public interest to acquire the 13
acre vacant parcel adjacent to City Lake for the appraised value of $33,000 (appraisal by
dated September 1, 2000 by Ralph Ericksen), to protect the OGWS pipeline and the City
chlorination station, and to avoid development on this parcel that could negatively impact
the City reservoir at City Lake;
WHEREAS, the Owners, George and Leona Brown have agreed to sell the
property at the appraised price, and have executed a Purchase and Sale Agreement on
October 25, 2000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of
Port Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to execute in substantially the same
form a Purchase and Sale Agreement executed by the Browns on October 25, 2000, and
take necessary steps to conclude the purchase of the property according to the terms of the
purchase can sale agreement.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the
