RESOLUTION NO. 20-010
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A VEHICLE
PURCHASE AGREEMENT USING THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENTERPRISE
SERVICES MASTER CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, the City's three-year strategic plan includes ensuring a sustainable future
for public services and facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City's Public Works Department requires vehicles to perform necessary
City Services; and
WHEREAS, Water Operations has two vehicles (2005 & 2007 Ford Rangers) requiring
an unsustainable amount of maintenance; and
WHEREAS, Wastewater Operations has a 1994 International Chassis, with a dump body
which is rusted out beyond repair; and
WHEREAS, Wastewater Operations also has a 1992 John Deere Loader requiring an
unsustainable amount of maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the Fleet, Parks, Water/Sewer, Wastewater, and Police Departments, have
met with finance to prioritize vehicle replacements for fiscal year 2020; and
WHEREAS, priority was established to replace the four vehicles listed above; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified available funds in the Fleet Replacement Fund to
make vehicle purchases; and
WHEREAS,the Finance & Budget Committee has referred this matter to the City
Council for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to execute a vehicle purchase agreement using the State
Department of Enterprise Services Master Contract to purchase two trucks, one steel dump body,
and one John Deer Wheel Loader for Public Works.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 16th day of March 2020.
