A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT TO PROVIDE
CONSTRUCTION TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THE GAINES STREET
FORCE MAIN EXTENSION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City to utilize the Cofitractor as an independent
entity to provide construction technical support services for the Gaines Street Force Main Extension
project: and
WHEREAS, such services require specialized expertise and training; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such services
itself; and
WHEREAS, the City has programmed sufficient funds in the current budget to cover
the expenses of these services; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has been selected from the City's Professional Services
Roster; and
WHEREAS, the City has investigated the qualifications of the Contractor and finds that
Gray & Osborne, Inc. is well qualified to perform the services required; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor is willing and able to provide and perform said services,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 'IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend as follows: to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a
Professional Services Agreement to provide Construction Technical Support Services for
the Gaines Street Force Main Extension construction project.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this 5th day of February, 2001.
