A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE ALL DESIGN AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
CONTRACTS WITHIN THE AVAILABLE FUNDING AND APPROVED BUDGET
FOR THE CITY HALL ANNEX PROJECT. THIS INCLUDES ALL NECESSARY AND
PROPER STEPS TO AWARD AND CARRY OUT CONTRACTS, INCLUDING
APPROVING APPROPRIATE CHANGE ORDERS OR CONTRACT AMENDMENTS.
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City to utilize an Architectural firm as an
independent entity to provide design and construction concepts technical support
services during construction of the City Hall Annex Project; and
WHEREAS, such services require specialized expertise and training; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such
services itself; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified this project in the Capital Improvements
Projects (CIP) portion of the budget and has programmed sufficient funds in the
current budget to cover the expenses of these services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend as follows: to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute all
professional services contracts within the available funding and approved budget for the City
Hall Annex Project. This includes all necessary and proper steps to award and carry out
contracts, including approving appropriate change orders or contract amendments.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this 20th day of February, 2001.
