RESOLUTION NO. 19-094
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO MOUNTAIN VIEW COMMONS RECOVERY
CENTER PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT OR A NEW MOUNTAIN VIEW COMMONS
RECOVERY CENTER AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, in 2017, the City of Port Townsend, Jefferson County, the Port Townsend
School District, the YMCA, and Jefferson County Hospital District No. 2, executed a partnership
agreement to create a plan for intergenerational health, wellness, and recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the 2017 partnership agreement outlined tasks for 2017 and 2018, including
a creating a facilities plan, analyzing governance options, drafting capital and operation budgets,
and identifying funding sources, as well as the roles and responsibilities for each of the partners;
and
WHEREAS, the tasks are still ongoing in 2019 and will continue into the future while
the partnership continues to evolve with partners changing roles and responsibilities as
circumstances and budgets have changed, but the goal of providing for intergenerational health,
wellness, and recreational facilities remains; and
WHEREAS, the partnership agreement needs to be updated with the current tasks, goals,
roles, and responsibilities for each of the continuing partners either through an amendment to the
current agreement or with a new agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend:
The City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute either an amendment extending
and updating the Mountain View Commons Recovery Center Partnership Agreement or,
alternatively, a new Mountain View Commons Recovery Center Agreement with
substantially the same terms as the current partnership agreement.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 16th day of December 2019.
