RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND AMENDING CITY COUNCIL RULES OF
PROCEDURE BY ESTABLISHING A CITY COUNCIL
TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington resolves as
follows:
WHEREAS, the City faces major transportation issues, including but not
limited to, the items identified in the Transportation Element of the Port Townsend
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines there is a need to establish a
Transportation Committee to support the Council in review of issues and to facilitate
public policy formation relating to transportation issues facing the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend as follows:
1. There is established as a standing committee of the City Council a
Transportation Committee.
The Committee is created to support the Council in review of issues and to
facilitate public policy formation relating to transportation issues facing the
City.
The Transportation Committee shall be comprised of the chairs of the
Community Development, Public Works, and Public Safety Committees, or
otherwise as appointed by the Mayor.
4. The Committee shall recommend a Mission Statement for the Council's
consideration and approval.

The Committee with the consent of the Council may create such subcommittee
as it may deem necessary or expedient to expand public process and
participation.
6. The Nonmotorized Transportation Advisory Board (Resolution 01-017) will
report to the Transportation Committee.

The Clerk shall make necessary changes to the Council Rules of Procedure,
including amending Exhibit E, to show the addition of the Transportation
Committee as a Standing Committee.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the
Mayor on this 16th day of April, 2001.
