A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MOVE FORWARD WITH DETAILED
FINAL ENGINEERING DESIGN, BIDDING, AWARD AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE
GAINES STREET PUMP STATION PROJECT WITHIN THE AVAILABLE FUNDING
AND APPROVED BUDGET FOR THE PROJECT. THIS INCLUDES ALL
NECESSARY AND PROPER STEPS TO AWARD AND CARRY OUT CONTRACTS,
INCLUDING APPROVING APPROPRIATE CHANGE ORDERS OR CONTRACT
AMENDMENTS.
WHEREAS,
replacement of the Gaines Street Pump Station has been identified through the
adopted Capital Improvements Program (CIP) and the city's annual budget as a
priority project, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may award and execute a Professional Services Agreement for
technical services during construction with authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may award' and execute a construction contract with
authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to move forward with this construction project
in the most expedient manner;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to proceed with final design, bidding, award and
construction of the project, including the signing of the necessary contracts to complete the
project, all within the approved budgets and financing plan for the project.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 7th day of May, 2001.
