RESOLUTION NO. 19-080
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
COMPLETE, EXECUTE, AND SUBMIT LOAN AND GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR
FUNDING THE FINAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE SEWER OUTFALL
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
permit requires that the City replace the existing sewer outfall from the wastewater treatment
plant by 2020 and the City has requested a one-year extension;
WHEREAS, Jacobs Engineering completed a facility plan amendment for the new
outfall in December 2018 and since then the City has applied for the necessary permits to
construct the new outfall;
WHEREAS, applications for Department of Ecology Water Quality Program Financial
Assistant applications are due October 14, 2019; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend:
The City Manager is authorized and directed to complete, execute and submit loan and
grant applications for funding the final design and construction of the new sewer outfall.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 71h day of October 2019.
