SEWER SEGMENT ACROSS LAND IN THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE FI~L~NCE
DIRECTOR TO ISSUE WARRANTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE EASEMENT
Whereas,The City will be constructing Phase III of the 30-inch
trunk sewer during 1999; and
Whereas,The trunk segment will be constructed within City owned
property or dedicated rights of way except for one
portion that, in order to maintain the necessary
gradient, needs to be routed through Lot 8 in Block 6 of
Broadway Addition to the City of Port Townsend, which is
owned by Betty L. Graham; and
Whereas,Betty L. Graham has agreed to grant an easement to the
City through the South 15 feet in width of said property
in consideration of the payment of $1,175; and
Whereas,The amount to be paid for the easement is consistent with
the market value for similar easements, as determined by
the Public Works Department based upon an analysis of
market data; and
N 0 W T H E R E F O R E
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that it authorizes the purchase of an easement through the South 15
feet in width of Lot 8 in Block 6 of Broadway Addition to the City
of Port Townsend, as per plat recorded in Volume 1 of Plats, page
112, records of Jefferson County, Washington, for the price of
1,175; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director is authorized to
issue the warrants necessary to complete the purchase of the
easement.
