PROS Plan 2020! The City of Port Townsend is updating its Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS)
plan this fall, intended to provide a new vision for City parks, recreation, programs, and services. The
new PROS plan will be built upon meeting the needs and desires of our community so…we need to hear
from you!
The City of Port Townsend’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department looks forward to
hearing from the residents of Port Townsend regarding their thoughts, ideas and needs. We need your
help in establishing specific goals, objectives, recommendations and actions for developing, conserving,
and maintaining quality parks, trails, facilities, and open space as well as providing opportunities and
programs that will enrich and enhance the quality of life in Port Townsend.
The PROS Plan will provide a pathway into our future for managing City parks and recreation, ensuring
decisions, actions, and advancements are in alignment with the community’s needs. An updated plan
will also allow the City to remain eligible for state grants through the Washington State Recreation and
Conservation (RCO) Office and will also support other City plans and budgets by helping prioritize
projects and programs consistent with the community’s vision, service standards, and funding
capabilities.

Join us to share your Vision Saturday October 12, at 10 am, 11 am, noon, 1 pm or 2 pm, at the Cotton
Building at 607 Water Street in downtown Port Townsend. Presentations will be provided at the top of
each hour followed by activities, discussions, and access to complete a community survey. Come learn,
discuss, share and envision with us the future of parks, recreation and open space in Port Townsend!
